My son Jarrod and I got the privilege of meeting and talking with Pat on three or four occassions when he was a Sun Devil. I remember how down to earth he was and how he was always so respectful to me and how nice he was to my son. I was able to take several pictures of Pat and Jarrod together in his Sun Devil uniform at Sun Devil Stadium....those I will cherish the rest of my life. They are both smiling big and he has his arm around my son. I also got the chance to see him on campus when he was at ASU and he reminded me of a surfer and the neat thing I noticed is that he was with a group of kids who were not athletes. It appeared to me that he related to all walks of life and they related to him. I think his parents did a wonderful job raising him (and his brothers) because to me he had all of his life priorities right. Just an all around great guy and Sun Devil. It saddened me greatly when my brother called from Arizona to relay the news early Friday morning. He's a true American Hero and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family. When I get sad and teary eyed I just try and picture him with my son and how good he made us both feel. The Police Chief from Kearny had it all right about Pat when he was interviewed on CNN.
