CENTRAL FALLS - Lucinda Martins, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday surrounded by her family.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the Lucinda (Catarina) Cardoza of Central Falls and the late Manuel V. Cardoza. She has resided in Central Falls for the past four years and previously resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
She enjoyed her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting and making gifts to give to her friends and family.
She was employed as the secretary to the Superintendent of the Central Falls School Department for more than 20 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her son Erik Martins and his wife Tanya of Johnston. Two sisters Theresa Moniz of Central Falls and Bernadette Kelly and her husband Christopher of Cumberland. One brother Albert Cardoza and his wife Karen of Cumberland. Two grandsons Dylan and Logan Martins and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Cardoza III.
Family and friends are kindly invited to honor and remember Lucinda's life on Thursday during Calling Hours on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Cory's Crusaders, In memory of Olivia Catarina, 45 Slater Drive Harrisville, RI 02830.

My sincere condolences to the family of Lucinda. May God give you the comfort needed in this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray constantly. We can stay close to God by praying.

Teresa, Bernie, Al and all of Lucy's family, my sincerest condolences to you all. Lucy was a very special person and I shall cherish my memories of her, especially of our chats, early in the morning at Hedley Ave.
