Dear Dan, Jeremy, Matt, Ben, Beverly and all of the Lewandowski and Cook Family members…
There are no adequate words to express my sadness for your loss at this time…I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Although I am across the country in Boston today, I truly wish I was there to be with each of you and share your grief in person. It was really a privilege to work for 7 years with Patricia for so many reasons, but the one thing that stands out-- and that I could count on-- without fail-- was for her to make me laugh. Sometimes even belly laugh! No matter how tough things ever got, she could always find humor in the situation. It's one of the top gifts I have ever received from a working colleague in my adult life—to learn to take difficulties in stride with laughter.
I will never forget her. Not ever. Just thinking of her now brings a smile to my face--even while tears are rolling down. If I feel this sorrow, just as a colleague,I could never know what you must feel as her loved ones.
Thank you for sharing her with so many teachers and students over the years. I light this candle in her memory on this page, and will light one here at St. Mary's Chapel, Boston's first parish, and one with Patricia's middle name. With heartfelt sympathy,
