Houston Lawrence Haynes

I went to East Side High School with Houston. We graduated together and he went to play football at Wichita State with running back Pete Robinson. remember him as being an excellent football player an a good man . My Prayers are with the family.

Coach Haynes was my football coach back at Temescal Canyon in the early 90's, I remember a few of his "quotes" and can still hear his voice in my head to this day. He had a great impact on my life and taught me many great lessons. Im sorry for the family's loss of this great man and will always remember him.

I just found out today January 21, 2013 about Houston's passing. I was priviledged to have the opportunity to be among the close friends that Houston had in Wichita Kansas. Houston was one of the most beautiful people that you could ever know. I never saw him become angry or ever raise his voice. He always had a smile on his face regardless of the situation. I am most honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to have Houston in my life.

It gives me great comfort to come here and see all of the people my father has touched during his time here on Earth. I see some familiar names, and some not so familiar, and it makes me happy that everyone knew what a fun and sincere person Daddy was. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and stories; Michael and I are grateful for you all! Daddy we miss you, we love you and we hope the Haynes' kids are making you proud up there!

"Hugo!" That's what we called ya in HS. I'll never forget the fun times we had "jonin" each other!You were a witty,bright,kind and gentle giant. Rest in peace Old East Side Flyer! My condolences to the family.
