My husband and I fell in love with your show when we moved to Los Angeles in 1999. Your enthusiasm was contagious, and we couldn't wait to visit in person the hidden gems you featured on "California's Gold." You were as charming in person, as my friend Gabby and I discovered when we met you at the 2004 Tofu Festival in downtown LA. When we moved to Chicago in 2005, I wasn't sad to leave behind the sunny California weather but I was sad to no longer have Huell Howser and "California's Gold."
To my children, you will always be the Backson (oh what a delight you are in Winnie the Pooh!). But to me and my husband, you'll always be synonymous with the Golden State. You will be missed.
