I will surely miss those impromptu phone calls from just about anywhere in which Bud would describe the scene or circumstances of his particular adventure of the day. Of course, many of those calls referred to the horse races and we shared a great deal of invaluable info, or so we liked to think. He got such a kick out of our state bred hero, California Chrome, and I thought it was so fortunate that Buddy got to experience that....even had a couple of winning tickets, autographed by Victor Espinosa!
Also, am remembering those days many years ago of family adventures with the fishing and all that. Later, Buddy and I took up golfing and really tore up that Los Alamitos course...literally! Bud was a good guy and, above all, I will miss that warm presence. For him it was a good run and I think he got a lot out of life!
