I was watching the Notre Dame game today and I heard them refer to the late Blair Kiel. I was shocked, I didn't even know. I went to school with Blair, he was always very kind, I wasn't very popular in school, but he didn't seem to care what others thought, he treated me nice every time we talked. I remember talking to him about colleges, and things after high school was over. Treated me as if I was somebody. Then I seen him at the Hoosier Dome in the early 90's, the same thing, he came up and talked. I give him as an example to my grandson when I tell him to be nice to everyone, no-matter what thier looks may be, or if they are different. Blairs parents done a great job riasing him. I wish I had known befor now, but my heart is still saddened the same. God Bless

My son and I saw you Blair when you played for the Packers. We came over to Green Bay for training camp. We watched practice as you threw the football over the fence to the crowd with a big smile on your face. You also signed my sons football as you walked from the practice field to the stadium. We still have the ball. I just found out you passed away tonite looking online at Packer quarterback stats. R>I>P number 10.

I woke up at 2:45 this morning thinking about you Blair. Then I remembered the date. May 8. It's been a month already yet it seems like yesterday. I think about you all the time Blair. I'm so glad I was fortunate enough to get to know your sweet sensitive side...one I have a feeling few were able or willing to see. You've helped me in so many ways my friend. I miss our chats so much and every day at work, when I walk through certain areas...there you are...still...with that silly grin on your face.

BK, I still can not believe you are gone. I promise to continue sharing your wonderful words with the world. You touched so many lives in ways I hope you now know. This candle represents "your one candle wish" I hold dear to my heart. I miss you so, Your Champion Always, Lisa... xoxo

To the Kiel family:
Your father, son, brother and uncle was one of the toughest players I ever covered at Notre Dame, and he was not always treated with the respect that he certainly earned. He and the Notre Dame team deserved so much better his senior year.

I will remember his pass to Tony Hunter that set up Harry Oliver's FG that beat Michigan, his coolness in engineering the upset of No. 1 Pittsburgh, the victory over Doug Flutie and Boston College at the Liberty Bowl.

Blair, you have certainly earned your place in Heaven with God, Jesus and Mary, our Mother, Notre Dame.
