Christine,
Casey was a very special man. He seemed to have that quiet confidence that many people wish for. He appeared to glide through life rather than push through it. I always thought that put him in a place of serenity that I wish I could get to.
Although I moved away from Perry County I still come up to Newport for church nearly every Sunday, and to visit often. So while I haven't been in contact with everyone I have remained close to the area.
I remember Casey as being gentle, humble and fun to be around. Very low key, but when he spoke you knew he had something important to say.
My best memories of Casey was his curve ball. I never could hit that thing. He never once bragged about it or talked about it, just threw it. He would strike me out, get that little smile on his face then turn and walk back to the mound. Never in a cruel or cocky way, just confident. It never occurred to him or me to be upset about it. It was just a game and we just had fun. I enjoyed being in his presence.
A good man that will be missed. Your heart is hurting now, as it will for a long time. May the memories of being with Casey soothe your heart and calm your mind……………………
May God's blessings and strength be with you.

Christine,
We are very sorry to hear of Casey's passing. He was a true gentle giant, I remember most as a baseball teammate. He will be missed.
With our deepest sympathy,
John and Patty Wertz

Chris,

You and Case have been on my mind ever since I heard of his passing. Tom and I have been fondly reminiscing the many times we spent together as couples; chuckling at Case's wit and marvelling at his total dedication to you. He was a good man and totally deserving of being "your rock". We will miss him.

Christine,
Thinking of you during this difficult time. Remember all the good times in the past 32 years that you had with your wonderful husband.
