In 1966-67, upon graduating from Camp Hill High School in the same class as son, Charles H. LeeDecker, I had a short-term office job before going off to higher education. The PA State Assn. of Boroughs at that time was at 2415 N. Front St., and housed several similar local government associations. There was a large common open space for us office workers and featured a huge picture window overlooking the Susquehanna River. Occasionally, when taking a brief break from his own office and desk, Dr. LeeDecker would pay us a visit while looking out the window to admire the view. He would often make thoughtful observations on the weather or the flora/fauna of the Susquehanna while holding his signature demitasse cup of hot tea. We enjoyed his visits and always learned something. He was respected and admired by everyone.

I had the pleasure of serving on the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania State Association of Borough during part of Dr. LeeDecker's tenure as Executive Vice President. I later served as President of the Association. I found him to be an extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and dynamic leader. Under his guidance PSAB became the preeminent local government organization in Pennsylvania. On a more personal note, he and his wife Ester were two of the warmest and most gracious individuals I ever knew. May they both rest in the peace of our loving God.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dr LeeDecker, he was always a gentlemen and a scholar.
His knowledge of local government was exceptional and will be greatly missed.

From 1962 to 1965 I had the extreme pleasure of working for the Pa
State Assn of Boroughs under the tutelage of Dr. LeeDecker. He was the nicest man to know, he was a very fair boss, and when I left to go to work in State Government, he gave me a nic send off. I had the greatest respect for he and his wife and was always happy that I got to know both of them. My sincere condolences to son Charlie Jr and daughter Ann. May you have comfort in knowing there were a very many people who knew them and held them in great esteem.
