Ronald "Ron" Snyder, age 77 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Ron was born in Hummelstown on January 24, 1940 to the late Adam and Kathryn (Basehore) Snyder. After graduating from Hershey High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country for over 27 years with two tours in Vietnam.
Ron is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Jewell Snyder; his two daughters and two sons, all of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Hoover and husband "Bud" of Hershey, Lois Brubaker of Palmyra, and Gloria Pavone of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Snyder.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. He was an amazing man. I remember him from all those years ago living across the street from us. He was the tallest man I had ever seen and a true gentle giant. He and Jewel were a great team. I hope that your memories will get you through this sad time. I will always remember him with a smile.
