I have known Sal for many years through the Hershey region car club. Sal and my husband were good friends all through the years at Hershey. My husband passed in 2011 and Lana passed a year or two before. Sal called me and we became great friends growing closer and closer! He loved when I would send food home with him, always so grateful. Most people are lucky to have one True Love in their life, I had two! Rest in peace my Dear Sal!

Dear Sal, Go With God.
December 26, 2017
I had completed fifty years in Education when I retired in 2003 and have told this story many times to demonstrate the goodness in kids. I was in my third year of teaching at the "new" Central Dauphin High School in 1956. As many new teachers I had discipline issues. I was assigned to teach English to two classes of Vocational Students...all boys!

After several weeks of frustration, I announced to one of the classes: " OK guys, I've had it...I'm trying my best to teach and many of you are causing me grief beyond description. I'm going to the Faculty Room (would NEVER happen today), talk it over and when you decide to cooperate, come get me!!" A half hour later, one of my boys, FRANCIS SALERNO, came to the Faculty Room Door and announced: "Mr. Holbert, I've got everybody under control and we're ready to be taught." I never had any major discipline issues from that day on. If I did, I just called on Francis and he resolved the problem. That is a true story and I've shared it often.
Rest in peace Sal, you have left a wonderful legacy ! Dr. John W. Holbert
