Fred passed away at Holy Spirit Hospital on January 23, 2013 at age 87 surrounded by loving family members.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, E. Elsie (Frantz) Wolff and children: David, Gloria, Richard, and Patricia, 8 grandchildren, Michael Wolff, Jennifer Stathatos, Emily Woodford, Elizabeth Drayer, David Deitch, Michael Deitch, James Wolff, Benjamin Wolff, and 5 great grandchildren, and two brothers, George and Robert. A daughter, Barbara and a granddaughter, Jessica, predeceased him.
Fred loved family, sports, and music. He was in the Yankee baseball organization from 1943 to 1948 as a left-handed pitcher having gone there directly after high school graduation. He was in the army in WWII and was the heavyweight boxing champ of Camp Lee, VA. He was also in the Pacific Olympics during World War II.
Upon returning from army service, he graduated from Pottsville Business School. Fred was a supervisor at TRW, an insurance company business partner, and retired from Quaker Oats. He taught trumpet for 5 years at a local music school. He was a Knight's of Columbus and Friday Night Golf League member. He coached Little League baseball for twenty years.
There will be a visitation at 10 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11 AM. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's name to the Alzheimer's Association 3544 North Progress Ave. Ste. 205, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110 (Alz.org) or St. Jude Tribute Program P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38148 (stjude.org).

Deepest sympathies to the entire Wolff family. We have many fond memories playing golf with Fred. The funniest one was when he was in such a hurry to play...he forgot his teeth!

Elsie, so sorry for your loss. The last time I saw Fred he was alert and talkative, he asked me my name, he seemed calm. It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you a little. Elsie, we are here in Vero Beach,Florida, for the winter and saw that Fred has passed. We haven't been in touch, but remember well good times with all the Wolff's. God bless you and your family -- love to all, especially George and Bob.
