Miss Ruth, Cheryl, Richard, Jackie and the rest, I certainly want to express my condolences at the loss of your father. I still remember Mr. George walking down Herr Street so many years ago . . . along with our dad. He was so proud of you all, always talking about you whenever I ran into him. And such a wonderful historian about the Tuskegee Airmen and African Americans in the military during world war II. I will certainly miss his wisdom. But what a wonderful life he led. Thanks for sharing him with the Harrisburg community. I know he is resting in all kinds of peace. Love you all

To the Washington family
I have known Mr. George since I was a youngster, he was and will always be MR.WASHINGTON to me.
A gentle man, full of grace and a quick smile. He always seemed as though he was on his way somewhere but he'd stop and give you that minute that you thought you needed.
While our experience and relationships with our fathers were probably different, I can't help but feel your sense of loss as I too have had to say goodbye to my Father.
I wish to share with you the heartfelt condolences from my family at this your time of sorrow, and leave with you this thought, we were blessed, and that blessing does not fade away just because we can no longer sit together.
The Patterson Family,
John (Carrie), Orus, Joyce, Bill(Vanessa) and Geoffrey
