Harry Roush Obituary

Rev. Harry R. Roush, 88, of Duncannon passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was born in Miller Township, PA on January 24, 1929 to the late Elmer and Carrie (Murphy) Roush.
At age 34 he heard the call of his Lord and Savior and began preaching. He held tent revival meetings sharing the Word to any size gathering, believing "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them". Mathew 18:20
He held jobs with L B Smith, Morgan Drive-Away and Bethlehem Steel and finally self-employment which included logging and selling and repairing chain saws and lawn mowers. He loved tinkering with his tractors, gardening, traveling and collecting owls.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his children's mother Mary Roush; son Harvey Roush; grandson David A. Little and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Mary Bomberger and husband Robert, Harry "Butch" Roush II and wife Joan, Lucina Zeiders and husband John, McClellan Roush and wife Deb, and April Fisher and husband Randy; sisters Catherine Warick, Lucina Campbell and Ruby Shumaker and husband Maurice; brother-in-law Harry Welcomer; lifetime friend Paul Sheaffer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Harry will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Ronald C. L. Smith Funeral Home at 325 N High St, Duncannon. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 pm and on Saturday, August 26 from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow the service at Newport Cemetery, Newport.
