Janette B. Cranford, Liverpool, passed away at Harrisburg Hospital on the evening of April 11th, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born on April 12, 1929 in LaGrange, Georgia, daughter of the late Anna Belle & John Driver Burgess. She is survived by her husband Louis Cranford of 54 years. Survivors also include sons, Charles and Louis, sister Janie Beckom in Jasper, TX, godson David McLeod, and goddaughter Rahmeka Cox of North Carolina. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Janette studied medicine at Tulane University but decided to pursue a career in business. She was involved in art, philosophy, and her community. She was an acquaintance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and an avid supporter of human rights. Her physical presence will be missed but her spirit, loveliness, and humor will be remembered forever. There will be a small memorial service held for family members, in Virginia Beach, VA on April 20, 2013, as Janette wished to be cremated and her soul set free to the ocean she loved so much.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Blessed Hope Bible Church, 9 Witmer Road, Liverpool, PA 17045. www.pennlive.com/obits

I was mrs cranfords caregiver it was a pleasure taking care of her and my sorrows for the family. I was the one who worked night shift and placed her on her side as she liked to sleep that way. She was very sweet and never complained. She will be missed.
