Karl G. "Hoss" Witmer

Karl G. "Hoss" Witmer 88 of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Mr. Witmer was born in Wiconisco and was the son of the late George and Amy (Patrick) Witmer. He was retired from the Conrail Railroad, where he was a foreman. He was a member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #464 and the Gaston Masonic Lodge# 382, Gaston, S.C. He was a former member and Uniform Parade Chairman for the Penbrook Vol. Fire Co. He was a former member and very active with the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Penbrook. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed trains, repairing cars, baking and camping. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Olive. He will be remembered being seen driving the "Green Hornet" in Lykens.
Mr. Witmer was the widower of Jane A. (Fetteroff) Witmer, who died in 1997.
Mr. Witmer is survived by his wife, Lynn Witmer; his daughters, Nancy J. (Randy) Moore of New Cumberland and Sally Ann Witmer of Highspire; his grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Moore of Etters, Lesli (Tony) Deppen of Camp Hill and Ronald Bryan III of Highspire; his great-grandchild, Keaton Miller.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 11 A.M., at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. The Rev. Guy S. Edmiston, Jr., of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, will be officiating. Burial will be in Calvary U. M. Cemetery, Wiconisco, at the convenience of the family.
A Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10-11 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice and the nursing staff at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, McBride Bldg, 2nd floor, for their compassionate care.
