Robert Stence was born in Lenkerville, PA in 1932 to John and Bessie Stence. He was one of nine children. Bob always loved the farm lifestyle as well as hunting and fishing. Bob began his career in the Navy right out of high school, serving on four ships during the Korean War. He made a career out of serving his county, achieving rank of Chief Petty Officer E-7 and won many awards.
In 1957, Bob married his life-long love, Alma "Josie " Zerbe and they recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Daughter Pamela Jo was born in 1961 and Robert Jr. in 1964. Bob's naval career led the family to Buffalo NY, Auburn, CA and finally to San Diego CA, where they have lived since 1973. Bob retired from the Navy in 1979 went on to start his second career as a Deputy for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department until he retired in 1998.
Bob went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on June 26, 2012 at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his wife Josie, daughter Pamela (Mike), son Bobby and grandchildren Ashley, Christopher, Nicole and Peyton.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1PM located at Calvary Wesleyan Church located at 200 Millers Road, Millersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Calvary Wesleyan Church or to Legacysd.org. Local arrangements by Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg.

Josie, Family and Siblings: We had the pleasure to meet last year again at Bill Stences'funeral. Both of the guys were best friends and I was a neighbor growing up in the same area. Donna, Terry and I (Spotts) send you our condolences. Bob's now in God's hands.
