Stanley Marinko Obituary

Stanley T. "Pop" Marinko, 92 of Mechanicsville, VA and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA peacefully passed away from a broken heart Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at his home. Born January 8, 1921 in Swoyersville, PA he was the son of the late Mary Ann Marinko.
Stanley retired as an Engineering Technician with the Letterkenny Army Depot and was a former employee at Olmstead Air Force Base. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg; the Knights of Columbus 4068 Our Lady Queenship Council and a lifetime member of Bishop Shanahan Council. His greatest joys were being with his wife who he was inseparable from, fishing at their summer home in Bob's Lake Canada and spending time with his family. Despite a lifetime of the physical ailments, Pop was always pleasant to be with and as long as Nana was by his side, he was happy.
Stanley was preceded in death five weeks ago by his wife of 67 years Cleo I. "Nana" (Bachert) Marinko and by his daughter Barbara A. Theriault. Surviving is his grandson Thomas H. Maloney, Jr. and his wife Angela; great grandchildren Kylie Shea and Keegan Maloney all of Mechanicsville, VA.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 1, 2013 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 2012, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or to the Arthritis Foundation Central PA Chapter, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110. MalpezziFuneralHome.com

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Stan and recently of Cleo.I first met Stan after
I hired Cleo at the Mechanicburg Naval Activity, after the closing of the Middletown Air Depot. At that time we became friends.
Stan was a kind and giving person and I am sure
that his famliy and all he touched during his life was blessed. I can't but help think that Stan left this life so close to Easter, when our Lord ascended into heaven, that he took Stan by his hand, and escorted him to His heavenly home. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, Cleo and family. I am also a Knight of Columbus at St.Catherine Laboure Church in Harrisburg, and his name will be placed on hour prayer list.
