Tony, know that your mother made a difference in so many lives and that she was truly a servant of God and not man. She was a very wise woman who thought things through thoroughly before speaking; she always had an encouraging word for others. When she first begin to feel the fatigue from her heart issues, she said to me, "You got to know your limitations and the difference between what God is asking of you and what "man" expects of you. Take care now baby, bless you and keep in touch." She ALWAYS placed blessings upon me before we parted - I will treasure that memory the most.
I extend my condolences but not sympathy because as her child, you know that she was already getting ready to finish her race for the Lord; to be present with Him and absent from us. My prayers are with your ENTIRE family. It seemed strange going into the church's restaurant and not seeing her or you close by this past Sunday.
May the unchanging love of God and His peace be yours as you accept her home-going. She is loved by so many people and we suffer this time with you and your family.
Fondly, I called your mom, Pastor Layne, and Elder Vera Sullivan "The Dynamic Trio" and their wisdom has given us younger ministers the encouragement to continue on this race.
I am sure that as you read the many, many, many expressions some names will be familiar and some will not. If you are like most of us, you remember faces but perhaps not the names; so. I included our photo for your convenience. God bless you as you and your family as you continue to run this race with God-speed.
