Bob was such a wonderful friend. I first met him at Kiwanis meetings where he was the epitomy of a Kiwanian. I will miss his friendship but he is always in my memory.

For many years, CAPT Gill frequently stopped by my office at NHP for a visit with me and the resident DFA. We always talked over old times. As an honorary MSC, I always enjoyed updating his emense MSC Database and keeping him up to date with the current MSC Community happenings. As I added new names to the database, he would sometimes say I remember that name or I knew his/her father.
In later years, his wonderful and very attentive caregiver (son- in- law) Bob would bring him by for a visit; I always enjoyed seeing them.
Mildred, CAPT Gill was a wonderful person, the Navy lost a special MSC.
I retired from NHP December 2011.

I met Captain Gill when I was the Director for Administration at Naval Hospital, Pensacola. Capt Gill would come in often to say hello. I was selected for Captain and he came in shortly after and asked if I would consider wearing his Captain's Eagle. I was so HONORED and thought of him every day when I wore his Eagle. I recall helping with an MSC Ball on the USS Alabama in 2003 and Captain Gill was there! Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Captain Gill was XO of Naval Hospital Pensacola when I left active duty. I remember him as very professional and probably the most respected XO with whom I have been associated. All who were aware of his selection as a member of the newly formed Medical Service Corps were grateful for the leadership in making the Corp the respected entity it became under those early leaders.
Fair winds, Captain
