I am in great sadness now; I just learned today.
Bucky was my very best friend in Pensacola prior to being pulled aparthe off to the Navy and me off to college.

I lost track of him and have not seen him in over 30 years.

He was the most wonderful guy, so likable, so honest, so nice and such a wonderful friend.

This is devastating news and leaves me unable to say more.

My regards to his family and children. Your husband and dad was one of the most wonderful guys I ever knew and I still feel that way about him after decades on no contact.

REST IN PEACE MY DEAREST FRIEND.
I shall never forget you or our great time together.

Working in the Pensacola area in 2012, I met John at OC and we spent many evenings sharing stories and friendship. I've often thought about John over the years as life took me across the country. I've met thousands throughout my life and travels but few remain in my memory as John had. He was unable to meet me my last night in town back then but took the time to call OC to say goodbye and wish me well.

I returned to Pensacola today hoping to meet up with my old friend only to find his picture on the wall. So long my friend.

Daddy You were the first man that I ever loved!! I will miss you sooo much. I am so glad that we have had the last three years since I moved home. I would not trade one memory, tear or laughter. I will remember everyone of them. Fly High Ghost Rider and keep an eye out for us down here. <3

What can you say about John? Start by saying he was a good loyal friend, smart, witty and ready to help. A whole bunch of folks will miss him terribly.

Bucky took me under his wing when I arrived at Duke Field in 1995. And I learned a lot from him... as a friend... as an NCO... but mostly as a person. I am thankful for the fun times and great memories.

Soar high, my friend.
