Angie - you have a special family and special memories through the years. Remember that when times feel tough. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I grew to love Mr. Salter, as I was his Home Health Caregiver. He told me many stories of his childhood, his "Martha", and the way things "used to be." I enjoyed listening to him retell his lifesong. We went together to Brewton to look at calves, some of which he ended up buying. He was sure proud of those grandkids and great grandkids. I was just beginning to join him in the rousing game of "punch buggy" that he played with one great grandson. Mr. Salter was a wonderful and gentle man whom I will miss greatly! His passing came at the exact time I was undergoing my own surgery. I would have left that hospital in a moment if I had known that he or Angie needed me. The Pennell family had a wonderful man to guide them! He is with "his Martha" now and is most likely smiling from ear to ear! I will miss him until I see him once more!

To a truly wonderful gentleman. I enjoyed his storytelling and his appreciation for the country life. He had great family values. He made a mean banana pudding. It was my privilege to be one of his nurses.
