Jeanne Frances Vick
September 8, 1927-
July 25, 2013
Jeanne Frances Vick, age 85 of Gulf Breeze, went home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeanne was born in Birmingham, AL on September 8, 1927. She was a precious and loving wife, mother, sister and devoted friend to all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jim Vick and his wife Cynthia; daughter, Mardi McDaniel; sister Mary Ann Roberts and her husband C.R.; grandchildren Chris and Meaghan Vick, Kyle McDaniel and four great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, her dog Jake, and many other extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Vick, Jr., parents Ruby Bell Beard and H.T. Beard, younger brother Hubbard Beard, granddaughter Kim McDaniel, and her beloved dachshunds Oso and Tooso.
Jeanne was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. She attended Auburn University where she met her future husband Joe. She was past president of the Pensacola Junior Women's Club and Manager of the Newport Federal Credit Union for a number of years before retiring and devoting more of her time to volunteer work. She was a charter member of Gulf Breeze Hospital's Auxiliary where she passionately volunteered and served until recently when her declining health prevented her from being there. She proudly received her 28 year service pin this past May. Jeanne will be remembered for her love and commitment to her faith, family and friends, her beautiful smile, and her willingness to help anyone in need.
The family would also like to thank her many friends who cared for, visited, and prayed for her; her caregivers, Jeannie Palmsteen, Virginia West and Judy Mercer, as well as her nurse, Sonya Williamson with Covenant Hospice. Special thanks to Dr. Anita Westafer and her staff for providing Jeanne with compassionate health care for many years.
The family will receive friends at the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola from 5-7pm Monday, July 29, 2013. A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze at 10:00am Tuesday, July 30, 2013 with Fr. Paul Lambert celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Jeanne's name to Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary, 1110 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL., 32561; or to Covenant Hospice 5041 N. 12th Ave, Pensacola, FL., 32504; or The Leisure Learning Society Foundation at the University of West Florida, 11000 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514 or St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561.

Prayers are with you and your family during this time. Mrs. Jeanne was a loving, compassionate, fun loving lady. I always enjoyed her company- quite a lady. You have been her rock.
