Roger C. Krueger
1923-2014
Roger C. Krueger, 90, resident of Pensacola, Fl for 44 years, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Roger was born in North Tonawanda, NY on October 15, 1923. He was a Staff Sergeant during WWII. He flew 51 combat missions as a tail gunner in the European Theatre, including raids over the Ploesti Oil Fields. Upon his retirement from the service, he worked at NAS Pensacola for 24 years.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marie Krueger; brother, Bob and daughter, Judy Wansley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marcella; daughter, Lynn Krueger; sons, Tim Krueger (Jill Cadenhead), Marcus Grimes (Gwen), Ronnie Grimes (Ruby); daughter, Salina Hall (David); grandchildren, Chris Jordan (April), Blake Krueger, Lizzie Krueger, Justin Wansley (Bianca), Jessie Grimes and Jeremy Hall; one great-great grandchild, Audrey.
A memorial service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2:00PM.
The family would like to express their appreciation to The Honor Flight of the Emerald Coast and the Collings Foundation for keeping the memory of our WWII Veterans alive.

I saw your father on WCTV when he made his honor flight. I had hoped to get an opportunity to meet him since my dad also flew over the Ploesti Oil Fields. So sad to lose another of the greatest generation. Please accept my sincere sympathy and gratitude for your dad's service to our country.
