I worked for Pete Vega at RAF Bentwaters UK. The Pete I knew there was all that others have written. He always made us laugh, and he never seemed stoppable.

I hoped against hope that he wasn't one of the ones that was taken. I am glad he had the time God gave him to do what he always talked about. To go home to Brooklyn and become a firefighter was one of his goals. I'm glad he had a little time for a wonderful life. I am so very sad that he had to leave too soon.

My thoughts and tears are with his family and friends

I met Pete "Big Head" ( I never thought his head was that big) 13 years ago while he was stationed at Beale AFB in California. I married one of his friends and he served as Best Man in our wedding. I remember a guy who was always smiling ,always sincere and was always going to make things right no matter how long it took. He would do anything for anybody at anytime. I don't believe he new how much he was loved by his friends,he has left them with so many great and crazy memories. He will never be forgotten. My prayers are with you all.

Peter & I were in the 2nd and 5th grade together. I remember him as a shy boy, always with a smile on his face. Solace is difficult to find when you're loved one is taken away from you. Just know that our prayers are with you. God bless.

Those of us in Chico, Ca have heard
many stories about Pete from one of
his friends, Tony Proger. It sounds
like Pete added much laughter to his
friends lives and I'm sure they'll
carry fond memories of Pete with them always.
Your family is in my prayers.
