Dear Conklin kids: I am so sorry for the loss you are feeling. When I think of your dad, I can certainly picture him in his casual golf attire with a grin on his face---but more vivid than that is how sharp he looked in that Captain's uniform, standing tall, ready to go out the front door of your house on Breezy Point Road. All the memories I have of your dad, involves my own childhood and the great experiences shared with you guys. My love to all of you, from across the pond...

Two of the greatest gifts given to me by my father; the art of storytelling and the love of laughter. I utilize both of these on a daily basis and my life is better for it. Laughter is one of the first things we do as infants and, if we are lucky, one of the last things we do before we die…….my father was a lucky man. I love you deeply and feel a profound sense of loss with you gone. Rest in peace dad. Love, Katie

I remember Pete giving me several check rides. What a gentleman.
I played golf at least a dozen times against Pete. He always was the winner, and I had a pretty low handicap at the time. I will always remember a few memorial rounds with Pete.

Carl Simmons, another former Northwest B747 Instructor.

One of the good guys! . I will always remember the excitiement of him "flying" into our lives on and off while growing up, wearing a big smile and leaving a lasting chuckle and warmth in our hearts. He will be dearly missed. Love to you all, from the whole bunch of us in New England.

What a terrible loss. Pete, you will be sorely missed. A wonderful man, a great friend and a terrific golfer. He will now be "shooting his age forever" I can say unequivocally, playing golf for me will never be the same. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Conklin Clan. You have lost a wonderful father.
Pedro
