To the family of Peter Gent, my condolences for the loss of your beloved one. May you find comfort at Isaish 25:8. (Erma L. Davis, Park Forest, IL.)

As a ten year old I watched Pete Gent play hoop for MSU at Jenison Fieldhouse. He was a very smooth, fluid player and he scored often and fairly easily. He was a pioneer as far as basketball players transitioning to the NFL, but he made it. N Dallas the movie was ok, but the book was lights out terrific. -- What a great Spartan. RIP, Pete.

I remember reading and enjoying "North Dallas Forty". But what I remember most is watching Pete and the Spartans play at old Jenison Fieldhouse. He was a great player and competitor.

I was playing high school football when 'North Dallas Forty' was published. At that point in my life, I had never been so fascinated by a book like that one. RIP Mr.Gent.
