Many years ago in a little church in Kilmarnock, VA, my mother recognized Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hannan...someone who she went to graduate school with at CU in the late 1930's. They left Tides Inn and visited at our cottage on the Potomac on their way back to DC. A couple of years lated I found myself at VISI Jr. College with Maureen and we became great friends. She could always get us invited to the gracious home of her parents (away from the cloister!) by saying the Bishop was coming to dinner and would love for some of the girls to be there. Never had dinner with him tho I wish I had but had many good times at the Hannan home. God bless you all.

Thank you for your service as Archbishop of New Orleans over the many, many years.
I know that you are wearing a very special crown in Heaven with the Virgin Mary and her Son, Jesus.

Over the many years, my husband and I both had the priviledge of meeting you at many different events. Sometimes it was when you visited our church as a new parish, or you blessed our children at their confirmation, and even once when you presented my husband with the honored St Louis Medallion for service to his church parish. Each time we shook you hand or bowed our heads to receive a blessing, it was like touching the Holy Spirit. You were truly a Blessed person and a gift to the citizens of New Orleans. You will always live on in our heart's memory.
