Chief Phillip Martin was a man of many strengths, wisdoms and many visions for the Choctaw Indian people of Mississippi. He was a mentor to me, however silent it may have been, from the early 1970 era of the Choctaw Self-Determination movement when I served on the tribal council with him. My heartfelt sympathy is extended to the family and the tribal members. He will not be forgotten. Ya-ko-kee Chief!

I had the pleasure of working with and for Mr. Martin in the 1970s. I found him to be a visionary for not only the Choctaw Nation but also for the Native American Nations through out the United States.
Even though I lost contact with Mr. Martin I never forgot the opportunity he gave me.
God Bless.
To Mr Martin's family please accept my families condolences and prayers.
