I met Andy in high school. We enjoyed surfing and beaching together and we shared the thoughts young people share. I hadnt seen Andy for years until our 40th high school reunion and we reconnected like no time had passed. He shared his health journey with me, we traded recipes, thoughts and feelings, and we kept in touch loyally. I loved him in the way you treasure a dear friend. I will always miss him with the pain that comes with the absence of a loved one. What a great person he was.

To Andy's Family, son Ty & daughter Ali -- Your brother & dad was a remarkable man. I was the "fifth" man on the newly-created Marketing Dept. at The Phila. Inquirer/Daily News & was new to newspapers. Andy was so kind & patient, walking me through many of the nuances of the medium. He made work at PNI interesting & fun, sharing tales of Chicago, of cycling, of Atco & much more! Savvy, stylish & understated. On the vanguard of change & evolution in the digital world. More importantly kind, socially aware & a terrific dad! So glad that he got to visit Ireland with family, to say his goodbyes and to know that he was loved. He will be incredibly missed.

Andy and I worked together briefly at the Wall Street Journal, and we stayed in touch for many years after that. I will always remember him as a smart, kind and gentle man. And he had such a strength of character to overcome adversity. My sympathies to his family. He will be missed.

Was a pleasure to work with Andrew at Naples Daily News. I didnt know him well but, from what I experienced he was an outstanding person. So sorry for your loss. Too soon.
