Fr. Charles E. Gormley: Charlie was a very loving & caring person,& very Family oriented. Rev. Charlie was very witty when telling stories, singing songs like: The Dirty Old Coal Man. I love a Piano , Policeman, Policeman, And several Irish songs. He had a Great Memory. I visited with Charlie on January 25th, 2018. He was in a happy mood. We hugged & greeted each other. He was in good form. Charlie was reminiscing about his childhood , living with his parents & siblings on Dunlap Treet, West Philadelphia.Pa he spoke of his GrandMother McNamee, Sarah McNamee, the McMennamins who lived in M.B.S. Parish.he gave me birth dates, who married who & their children's names. Charlie stated, Well, Ann there's some genealogy on the McNamee side. He was as sharp as a tack that Thurs..We had a few good laughs,& some serious talk, about the GORMLEY Clan.I always loved to listen to him he was a BOOK of KNOWLEDGE .He was so HAPPY that day.he was in very good spirits. I said I will be going you have to get your nap,he replied don't worry about my nap. Just have a seat. So I did. When I was leaving going out the door Charlie, called Ann come back,I want to give you my Blessing, so I received his blessing not knowing It would be my last blessing from Father. He gave me a Big Hug, & I said don't get emotional on me, Charlie said I think your getting emotional. So we chuckled said our good-boy's. Never thinking that would be our last good-by. The LORD does WORK in MYSTERIOUS WAYS. I just decided to Visit with Charlie after the Doctors & Visiting my Parents grave in Holy Cross Cemetery,I'm so glad I did never knowing he Would be in Heaven on Saturday Night. Charlie is a 1st cousin of my husband Tom Cummings. Tom!s Mother was a Sister Of Aunt Hannah, Charlie's Mother. May They All Rest in PEACE.Ann Cummings.

My mom and dad were lifelong friends of Father's parents, Hannah and Charlie. Growing up I remember Father's ordination photo on our piano. I'll remember Father in my prayers.

Remember Fr Gormley as a good friend of Fr Fitzerald at St Anselm. He was always smiley and happy. May he rest in peace
