I was a Plebe when Charlie visited West Point considering playing football for the academy. I showed him around and recommended he join. The rest is history. We played together on Football & Lacrosse teams. I just visited him in September 2017. Little did I know that would be the last time I would see him. What a fine person and a great team mate. I will miss him!

I played against Charlie in the Philadelphia City Football Game at Franklin Field that was played on December 12th 1964. I played for Frankford H.S. and we lost in the last 56 seconds 19-18. I remember tackling Charlie twice...and I could readily see why he starred later at West Point because when he ran straight at you ,you had the choice of moving out of his way or meeting both of his knees . I chose the latter. That's why I knew he would excel wherever he played football. Charlie may you rest in peace. I shall close with a statement Billy Graham said to his son Franklin before he departed. I shall paraphrase "I'm not leaving, I'm just changing my address".

My sincerest sympathies and prayers to the Jarvis family. I was a classmate of his at Saint Charles School and in his graduating class at Father Judge H.S. He was a true leader and a gentlemen. Rest in peace, Charlie.

I had the good fortune to reconnect with Charlie during the Army Sports Hall of Fame weekend last September. Despite his circumstances he managed to stay strong and be positive. We had the best time reminiscing about so many things. I will forever have fond memories of those times we shared at West Point in the '60s. Rest in Peace...
