Dear Cousins,

I learned last night that my dear Cousin Esther had passed. You may not remember that you have family in Houston, Texas, who have lived away from Philadelphia, (the Hirsh familys homebase) for more than 50 years. But growing up near the warmth of Aunt Annies and Uncle Charlies clan was truly a blessing. My memories of visiting Esther and Myers home for play time with the kids and later seeing pictures of them as grown-ups with their own families continue to bring a smile to my heart.

My husband, Richard, and I send love and condolences to Dear Esthers loved ones. May your memories of Esther continue to be the blessings in your lives.

I just found out that Essie is heaven bound! When you live as long as Essie, there is hardly anyone left to send a Legacy entry. I can't say it better than Randee. Sincere condolences to the family, no one could ask for a better family. Thank you all for taking care of my Essie.

Essie is/was the BEST most wonderful human being that has ever been in my life, and since I will be 70 tomorrow, it is saying something. I know Essie since I was born. I love Essie and always will. She saved me from my mother more times than the stars were out at night. She was my "mother", sister, aunt, friend, confidant, one line comedy audience. We laughed and cried together till we peed in our pants. No matter where I was in the world I always kept in touch with Essie. Essie was beautiful inside and out. She created joy everywhere, especially for all the brides she dressed!

I could go on and on, but no reason to as everyone that knew her knows what I know. I will always miss her and she will always be in my heart and mind. I made a special trip to see her January 9, 2017, it was the coldest day of the year. I also saw her the next day before I got on the plane back to Florida. I am so happy that I was able to see her. I was just getting ready to see her again in a few weeks, But, that will not happen. Our visit was filled with memories, tears, and lots and lots of laughing and hugging and kisses. I LOVE YOU ESSIE..... Everyone does.....

My Aunt Essie was proof positive that only the very best come in small packages she was one of a kind in the best possible way! My heart feels broken but I am left with so many wonderful memories and funny stories that I'll keep close to my heart forever. Rest in Peace my dear Aunt Es mommy has been waiting a long time to see her beloved sister.
