Eric and I were deeply saddened to learn of Irma's health struggles and death. You've always been "The Russos" to us, first as the authors of so many of the papers I cited in my thesis, but then as the truly kind people we came to know. We are sorry for your loss and hope that your good memories of her along with the prayers and support of the others who miss her will ease your pain.
Jose and Patricia,
My heartfelt sympathy to you at the loss of Irma. She was a great woman - a leader in her research field and a compassionate and driven individual. Her (and Jose's) accomplishments have led me in the direction that my career has taken me today. She will be dearly missed by many. May God cast his blessings upon you as you heal from this loss. With Sympathy, Dr. Sue Fenton, NIEHS.
