Happy birthday Dad! All the girls are getting so big. Addison & Aubrey are turning 1 in a few weeks. The year is gone by so fast. They will be walking real soon and then the real trouble starts. Kasey & Kailyn just made their First Penance & are making their First communion in a few months. They are getting so big so fast and I really wish you were here to enjoy them. You would be in your glory with all these grandkids. Life has changed since you've been gone and through all the good and bad I always think of you and wish you were here to give me advice or just to listen to me. I miss you more each day. I love you Dad.

MISS YOU UNCLE JIMMY....HAPPY BIRTHDAY

March 4, 2010

Hi dad. Happy birthday! Can't believe this is the 4th birthday without you. It doesn't get any easier but I know your in a better place. You should see the girls and how big they are getting. They are so funny you would be cracking up laughing everytime you saw them. Keep watching over them because it's working they are the best kids we can ask for. I love you and I miss you.

Hi Dad. The Phils have done it. Your dream has come true and they are back in the World Series. That was one of the last things we talked when you were in the hospital. All you wanted to see was another World Series and now you got your wish. I wish you were hear for me to talk to you about it because I think about you every game and I know that after every game we would probably be on the phone with each other talking about it. I know you are smiling down on them and hopefully with four more wins we get what we've been waiting for all these years.

You would be so proud of your granddaugthers waving their rally towels when they watch the games with me. I told them how much you loved the Phillies so when we are watching the games together they ask me: Is grandpop watching the Phillies from up in heaven. I tell them you wouldn't miss it for the world.

Tyler is already turning one. The girls are doing soccer and gymnastics now. Alex & Nicholas are getting so big. You would be so happy with the way your grandchildren have turned out. Keep watching over them because whatever you are doing up there is working. I love you and I miss you.

Go Phils!!!

Hi dad. Well you have yet another grandchild, Nicholas James. Ivana had him on June 21st. You had to see me, mommy, ivana and ginny trying to wake him up when we went to see him the other day. it took about ten minutes. he is just like jimmy and you when we tried to wake you guys up for work.

it hurts to see our family grow so big and for you to not enjoy it. You would crack up to see the girls now. They are getting so big and smart and funny. They made up these dances and it is hilarious to see.

It's kind of ironic ever sinced you passed the phils have been pretty good. They are actually in first place even though they've been playing crappy lately. It's been a long time since they've been in that position midway through the season. I knew how bad you wanted to see them in the playoffs again but just know that you were there with me last year when they made it and you will always be there with me. I miss you and I love you.

Hi dad. I can't believe you are gone for two birthday's already because it feels like yesterday that we were sitting at home talking about the newest thing the girl's had said or did. You should see them now you would be so proud and you would get so many laughs out of them. By the way you now have 4 grandkids and another on the way. Stacy and Stanley had a boy, Tylor James, and Ivana is pregnant with a boy as well. It's sad to see our family grow with you not around but I know you are watching over everyone. I miss you and I love you.

Hi dad. The last 10 months have been rough for me without you but I know your in a better place right now and I know grandmom's right there with you. I know you must be smiling because the Phillies finally got over that hump and made the playoffs. This season has been an emotional ride for me since every high and low they experienced brought up all those childhood memories of you taking me and Jimmy to all those games. I remember you taking us out of school early to go to '83 World Series. I remember watching game 1 of the '93 World Series with you when Kim Batiste booted the ball allowing the Blue Jays to tie the game and then redeeming himself with a hit to win the game. I remember calling you from the Vet when I saw Kevin Millwood pitched his no hitter. I remember when I got married still calling you when something crazy or amazing happened in a game like David Bell hitting that grand slam with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth in Cincinnati a few years ago to see if you were watching. And then this year there were so many crazy and amazing things that happened that my first inclination was to pick up the phone and call you to see if you were watching but I couldn't and that really brought it home that you aren't here anymore. You told me just before you passed that one of the only things you wanted to see was the Phils make the World Series one more time so hopefully that happens and I my first reaction will still be to pick up the phone and call you.

We took the girls to Disney World and they loved it. If you would have seen the smiles on their faces when we had dinner with all the princesses you would have smiled just as much as them. When we were on the plane flying down there Kailyn asked me if we were going to see you because I always tell her that your up in the clouds. I wish you could see how grown up they have become. Kailyn is such a character. All she does is sing and dance and make jokes. Kasey is going to be the bookworm. She is so smart. They have these kid baseball bats and she asks me to play baseball with her all the time. I just hope that I beacome half the dad that you were.

Everybody says that it will get easier with every passing day but sometimes it doesn't feel that way. I know it eventually will but until then I will keep thinking of all those times we had together and as long as the Phils are in the playoffs every pitch will be a reminder of how great a dad you were.

GOD GRACES US WITH GIFTS EVERYDAY,
NOT SO SURE WHY, BUT HE GIVES THEM TO US ANYWAY.
OUR GIFT CAME FROM GOD, AND WE KNOW THAT FOR SURE,
CAUSE HE WAS AN ANGEL, WHO TRIED TO DO EVERYTHING AND MORE.
ON THAT BEAUTIFUL DAY IN 1947,
GOD GRACED US WITH A GIFT THAT CAME TRULY FROM HEAVEN.
A BOUNCING BABY BOY TO ANSWER HIS MOTHERS CALL,
AND HE GROW INTO A FINE YOUNG MAN, WHO TOUCHED THE HEARTS OF ALL.
THROUGH HIS LIFE HE WAS CERTAIN OF MUCH,
BUT WHEN HE FOUND BARBARA LEE, HE WAS CERTAIN ENOUGH.
WITH OUT A THOUGHT IN HIS MIND SHE WAS IT,
THE ONE GOD GRACED HIM WITH, THE ONE THAT JUST FIT.
BUT IN YEARS TO FOLLOW, HE LEARNED HIS LOVE HAD GOTTEN STRONGER,
BECAUSE THREE LITTLE ONES SOON ARRIVED FOREVER LONGER.
TWO MASCULINE BOY’S WHO HE TAUGHT HOW TO BECOME MEN,
AND THOUGH THEIR FATHER, THEY BECAME THE BEST MEN THEY CAN.
A DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL, WITH BLOND HAIR AND GREEN EYES,
WHO HE WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR, NO MATTER WHAT THE SIZE.
YEARS WENT BY AND THE MEMORIES BECAME MORE AND MORE,
MARRIAGES, GRANDCHILREN, AND ANNIVERSARIES FOR SURE.
THEIR HEARTS WERE ALL FILLED WITH LOVE AND KIND,
BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS COMING IN TIME.
A SICKNESS THAT LEFT HIM, A BEAUTIFUL MAN BREATHLESS,
THINKING EVERYDAY TO HIMSELF,WHAT IS NEXT?
SHE SPENT HOURS IN THE HOSPITAL HOLDING HIS HAND,
KNOWING THAT SHE HAD TO BE STRONG, THE STRONGEST SHE CAN.
JUST LIKE ANY NORMAL DAY SHE KISSES HIM ON THE HEAD,
WHISPERING I LOVE YOU, AND I WILL BE BACK TO TUCK YOU IN BED.
NOT TWO SECONDS SHE WALKED THROUGH THE DOOR,
A PHONE CALL CAN THAT MADE HER DROPPED TO THE FLOOR.
THE ONE SHE LOVED SO MUCH, THE MAN OF HER DREAMS,
WAS SADLY GONE, IMPOSSIBLE IT SEEMS.
THE PHONE CALLS WERE MADE AND THE TEARS WERE WEPT,
BUT IN THEIR HEARTS IS WHERE HIS MEMORIES WILL BE KEPT.
AT THE END OF HIS LIFE WAS SO BLACK AND BLUE,
BUT HE FOUGHT THROUGH IT BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT HE KNEW.
HIS MEMORIES WONT BE FORGOTTEN, AND HIS LOVE IS STILL HERE,
HE IS BACK IN GOD’S HANDS BUT HE WILL ALWAYS BE NEAR.
SO I THANK GOD FOR GRACING US WITH JAMES DUSSELL JR
HE WAS AN ANGEL IN DISGUISE BUT GOD WANTED HIM SOONER.

Your sister Pat

Today is your birthday Jim and even though you are not here for me to call I had to take this time to say "Happy Birthday". I know that you are in a wonderful place now and free from pain but the pain still lingers in my heart. I know that someday it will get better but the memories of you will never go away. I still look back on the times of us growing up together, teasing each other when we were small, taking you for a ride on the back of my bike and watcing you play with you train set, all the time there for each other. These are the memories that I will cherish forever. With me being a military wife we spent a lot of time away from each other but you were always close to my heart. My love goes out to you today and I hope that you are enjoying that big Birthday Cake in the sky. I love you Jim and I know that someday I will seen you again but until then I send my love to you.

Barb, I have been a part of this family now for eight years and I can truly say that it has been an honor. You and Big Jimmy have always treated me like one of your own. I love you so very much and I am always here for you. You are a lucky woman to have spent those years with such a wonderful man. I know I will cherish all the time I have spent with him and the time he got to spend with my girls. I will make sure that they will always remember their Grandpop Dussell.

David, I love you so very much and I know that you deal with things in your own way and that is fine but I just hope you know how much I love you and am there for you no matter what and always remember that your father is looking down on you and knows how much you love him and will always love him and he felt the same way.

Stacy and Jimmy, you know that I am always there for you if you need me. I love you both as if you were my own sister and brother. Stay strong and always be there for your mother because she is going to need you by her side.

Aunt Barbara, little Jimmy, David and Stacey: Words cannot convey the sadness I feel or how sorry I am for the untimely loss of our family's "big Jim." His was a life cut short and proof to us all that only the good die young. While I've spent most of my life in distant cities (distant countries even), the love I felt from my uncle and godfather was a true constant. My Uncle Jim was an exceptional man, one who showed me that being a family did not mean living in the same zip code. His love for me was unconditional and for years that love spanned oceans, continents and time zones. To say my uncle was a good man would be injust - he was a GREAT man and he will be greatly missed. Our loss here on Earth is most certainly Heaven's gain and I only hope that someday our paths will cross again. With much love to you all from your niece and cousin, Kelly

GOD,UNCLE JIMMY DAYS ARE GOING BY QUICK AND I CANT STOP THINKING OF YOU.I HAD MY WHOLE LIFE WITH YOU BUT IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS ENOUGH.I MISS WALKING INTO YOUR HOUSE AND SEEING YOU SITTING DOWN READING SOMETHING IN THE NEWS PAPER OR WATCHING EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND,AND YOU WOULD LOOK UP AT ME AND SAY: OH GOD HELP ME OR OH LOOK WHO IT IS. LOL YOU WOULD ALWAYS BREAK THEM FOR ME BUT NOW I KNOW WHY MORE THEN EVER WHY, IT WAS CAUSE YOU LOVED ME SO MUCH.
NOW I HAVE MY AUNT TO TAKE CARE OF AND TO MAKE HER LAUGH JUST LIKE YOU MADE ME LAUGH ALL THEM YEARS.
YOU ARE GONE, BUT IN MY HEART YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,NEVER
I LOVE YOU UNCLE JIMMY, SO MUCH

Barbara, I remember being friends with you back in high school, and then I introduced you to my Brother and before long we became family. Thank you for taking care of Jim all these years. Jim, David, and Stacy-you made your Dad proud. Cherish the memories and know that he loved you dearly. My Brother's time on earth was way too short and he did not deserve to suffer. He is at peace now and is finally free. Being the baby of the family and three years apart, Jim was there for me when I needed him the most. I will cherish the good memories and hold them close to my heart. I will always remember his last words to me on Christmas Night. Rest in peace Jim. I love you! Your "little sister", Barbara
