Richard (Ricky Bay) was a very close friend of mine up until high school, when we end up in to different high schools and I moved away from West Philly. He was a very good athlete. He was a very loyal friend and was loved by everyone. He had that very magnetic personality. I remember his whole family wonderful people. I think of Ricky often and know that he is in peace.

Dear Connie,

You may not remember me at all but I worked at Chilton while Rick did, but in Plant Accounting.

Rick was in my sixth grade graduation picture from Bryant School at 60th and Cedar Avenues in 1956. I was just looking at that picture only a few short months ago!

Please accept my condolences and extend them to all of the members of your family.

Dear Jeanne: I am sad to hear of Rick's passing. I had an email today from one of our friends from Bartram who told me the sad news. As you are aware we just had our 50th reunion from Bartram a few weeks ago and we were asking about him. We did not know. Rick and I went from 1st to 12th grade together, Bryant, Sayer and then on to Bartram. We were always in the same home room. I am so sorry for your loss, he was a good guy to grow up with. it sounds like he had a wonderful life with a gratifying career and family. May God Bless you all.

Dear Jeanne. I honestly don't know the words to say that can provide you comfort. Only that we send our love, thoughts and prayers to you. Rick was a great friend, a great man and adored by incredible numbers of people. We celebrate the incredible life of a man of integrity, generosity and kindness. We cherish the many memories with you and Rick that we shared over the years in places like Bermuda. And it was even the little things that made Rick so wonderful. He remembered details that made people feel special, he served peoples needs and get us laughing at events like the SECO dinners. I and my family are grateful that Rick was in our lives and we'll always keep that in our hearts. Right now we also have you close in our hearts and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hi Jeanne, so sorry to hear about Rick. I had the honor of working for Mr. Bay at Chilton during the late 90s. We had a lot of good times and good luck together, and one of my greatest regrets about leaving was parting ways with Rick. He truly was one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure to have known. No one understood or related to people better than Rick, and no one was better at caring for relationships. He always went out of his way to help me and he saved my bacon on more than one occasion. Long after I left I received a package of Christmas wrapping paper from Rick every December. I know hundreds of people who can say the same. The world is a poorer place without him. I'll miss him terribly, and I will try to honor him by putting into practice, as best as I can, the lessons he taught me. Thank you for sharing him with us and the very best of luck to you.

Jeanne. We are so sorry for your loss. Rick was a great guy, and a good friend. He helped us when we were building our company, and his loyalty and insight allowed us to prosper. He was a giver, and was also highly respected in the medical industry. We will miss seeing him at the medical shows. He was one of the really good ones! We offer our most sincere condolences.

Jeanne,
I have known Rick through my work on Jobson's U.S.Pharmacist. Even though our paths intersected only periodically I have witnessed every trait ascribed to him in the prior entries. He was one of the most caring, ethical and professional people anyone could ever hope to know.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Jeanne,

Rickie and I were very good friends as kids. I grew up on the same block as he did in West Philly, Pemeberton Street. He was a good hearted person with many friends. I had not been in contact with him in probably 50 years but obviously from what I have read he had a very enriching life. I am truly sorry for your loss and for the loss of an pal.

All the best,

Jeanne,
It's very hard to express in words what Rick meant to me and everyone he knew -- and those of us who were lucky enough to work with him. He was a great friend, fun, thoughtful, sharp, elegant, supportive, unique, a mentor and a true leader. I am surely privileged to have known him. My sincerest condolences to you and the family.

December 5, 2012

Jeanne: Although I do not believe we have met I wanted to let you know how much we all loved Rick. I suspect you are hearing the same thing from many of his professional friends. Rick was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He always made sure that everyone around him was comfortable and satisfied before ever thinking of himself. His upbeat personality, charming wit and incredible intellect are among the many character traits we all admired. When Rick was in a room, at a meeting or hosting a dinner you knew it would be fun, upbeat and productive.

I can only imagine how you and the family are feeling in trying to deal with his loss. Please know that many of us grieve with you. We will miss him dearly and one thing is for certain, we are all better for having known him. What an incredible man.

With my deepest sympathies,

December 4, 2012

Dear Jeanne,

Rick was my "boss" 15+ years ago-- I say "boss" in quotes because he was anything but bossy. He was the best kind of leader, one who made you want to be the best you could be. He motivated with kindness and compassion (the rarest and most treasured type of leader), but had a fiercely competitive and clever side. He amazed me with the loyalty he inspired among those who worked for him and his generosity toward all of us. He was, quite simply, one of a kind. How lucky you were to find lifelong love with this man who adored you so, and who changed so many lives with his leadership, wit and willingness to mentor. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now in your time of grief.
