It has been a little more than a year since Joanne slipped away from us clear across the country in the loving care of her sister, Rose, and her late sister, Cynthia 's, son, Owen, who she raised as her own. I will always remember our happy times together in Philadelphia (and in Truro) with our friend, Judy Holben, and my husband, David Kozinski, including many festive dinners at her favorite Vietnamese restaurant near the Italian Market and movies at The Ritz. She was a generous spirit and faithful friend who adored Owen, her sisters and her puppies, especially Ella. Twenty years ago Joanne quietly conquered cancer with the same dignity and grace that pervaded her entire life. I miss her wit, wisdom and, especially, her melodic laughter. Rest in peace, dear Friend. With Love,
