Every year around this time, millions of college freshmen head off to begin their new lives at college. It's a pretty intense time for most. My first class at Villanova was in freshman English 101. My teacher was a small man with bright blue eyes and a booming presence. He was such an amazing teacher that I changed my major within a year and a half just to be able to take most of the courses that he taught. He was really more of a philosopher than an English professor. Who knew that Elizabethan and Jacobian Drama could hold such fascination with an 18- year -old? He was brilliant yet humble.....humorous yet insightful. He challenged us to question what we had read and to debate what grade we had received . There was never a single, dull moment in class. Dr. Joseph DaCrema passed away last November 19, and I just found out about this loss to the world. I just figured I should let people know......teachers like Dr, DaCrema change one's attitude toward life. Thank you, Dr. DaCrema! I still quote you, even during math class!! :):):) You've earned your spot in paradise! :):):) Thanks for the knowledge! Peggy Weldon (Class of '86)

Dear Joey: I am so sorry to learn about the passing of your dad. I am so glad that Dave and Michael got a chance to be with you. If you need anything, please let us know. I offered by Mass today for your father. Today is the day we celebrate Christ the King....so a special prayer for Uncle Joe.

Dear Norma - So sorry to hear about Uncle Joe. I remember how wonderful the two of you were to Michael and Christopher. They enjoyed being with you so much. I'll pray for your comfort....and for your son as well. God Bless.
