To this woman, my Mother, and dearest advocate and love of my life, I owe my well being, sense of self and passion for life and the wellbeing and deep interest in the transformation of humanity as well as my consistent caring for others. I say these things because she engendered beauty and caring in everything she put her mind and heart and will to and by doing so, she engendered these capacities in me. I miss her more than I could ever say or express. And, I long to see her face and hold her as we had time to do in life and do in the only way I can now, with every spiritual aspect in my being! She was the finest of human beings and was completely dedicated to everyone in her life. She was also one of the finest and highest levels of soul and talent for creating beauty in thought and all around her, firstly as an artist and secondly in her ability to put decency if human beingness always, first, even fiercely so! May everyone be touched by the brilliance and joy of such a person as Patricia Jeanne Gilmartin!!!

My mother continues to be one of the most loving and beautiful person I have known. She comforts me still and her life stands out from so many others as to be like rays of sunshine in darkness! We are all loving her!

The first poem I recall was Housman's "Along the way", to be followed by thousands more from Housman, Dickinson, Shakespeare, Marvel, cummings, and many more, not least being her own beautiful and interesting poems. Drama from many playwrights, in a number of which she performed, starting at age 10, and songs - folk, opera, spirituals, etc. - which she sang with accurate beauty, and ballet into her teens, and eurythmy during the last 30 years were all woven into her early years of devotion to her children and her later years of care for her social-work clients. You know, music and joy shall live, never to die.
