I lived in Hawaii for a number of years. On one occasion in early 1974 I just happened to attended a small concert at an outdoor basketball court at University of Hawaii-Manoa. There could Not have been more than five hundred people there. One of the entertainers was this dark-curled haired young lady. One of the songs she sang was about a "Poetry Man". This would have been before it's official release. If at the time, had I known her name or what the future held for her, I would have chased her down and given her a 'Kiss'. It has been many, many years since that night. I still remember leaning back and looking up at all the stars in the sky. Little did I know that one day they would be joined by a much brighter one.

As another child of the 70's I don't remember one day going by that I did not hear Phoebe's voice coming out of at least one music player in our house. By age 15 she had made my all time most beloved musical artist list and has never been bumped from her top 5 spot. This woman wrote the lyrics that no one else would admit to and sang them like no one else could. Her voice will still bring tears to my eyes, Phoebe you will always be missed!
