Wayne, sorry to hear about your mother, must have very proud of you and your hockey career. I, Alice Forrester met you on Dec 17, 1982, with a friend of mine, his name is Wayne, also. We both had our picture, taken with you at your shop, you use to have called Wayne Gretzky's Western Corral.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the whole family. Although I never met her, I can tell through all the writings, she was very warm, strong and loving woman.

To the Gretzky family,
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you. I did not know
Phyllis and only know what I saw in the movie "Waking Walter". She showed courage beyond belief. Just a side note, my son David idolizes Wayne, "The Great One" and has the greatest respect for such a great role model.
I used to live in Canada and loved to watch Wayne play.

"On the Loss of
Your Mother"

A smile,
a touch,
a gentle laugh
remembered,
a voice softly
whispered
in the wind...

May the memories of your mother
held deep within your heart
help to soothe your spirit at this time.

My loving thoughts are with you and your family in the loss of your mom.

My sympathies to the family of Mrs. Gretzky. I hope you find strength in family and friends to get yourselves through this difficult time. I never met Mrs. Gretzky, but she seemed to be a lovely person, a devoted wife and mother. Be proud that so many who knew her thought the world of her. I'm so sorry for your loss. God Bless. Lorna

Dear Gretzky Family,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of a very strong and vibrant woman. Although I never met her, I can tell through all the writings, she was very loved and very much a part of making the Gretzky family what it is today. My mom currently has lung cancer and I know how hard it is for her and for the family. Keep her in your hearts always and know she is no longer in pain and is safe and happy watching over you all.

With love and admiration,
Sheri DeRonde

Dear Walter,
Please accept the sincerest condolences of my family to yours. I can empathize as my father, Pat, passed away in Nov.
My wife and I met you in the lobby of the Casino hotel back in September and were struck by your frindliness and generosity of spirit. This coupled with the wonderful way that Phyllis lived her life and raised her children is clear evidence of why your family is so cherished by the people of Brantford and all of Canada and why Wayne is such a wonderful ambassador for hockey and this country. Hopefully, thoughts of this will help you cope with your tragic loss.
Yours truly
Mike Considine
