Hi, Philippe from France. I grew up with Mr Lynch movies and the many TV shows in which he always was the best part of the cast, very often playing the "bad guy", that always caught your attention. Strange to say, but I was always looking for him through the TV programm. Then, surfing on internet, I discovered interviews on youtube, and I was very touched that he appeared to be a truly very nice guy in life. Many comments, pictures and videos posted on internet by fans all over the world always confirmed that. I never read a bad word on him. People who approched him (fans, but directors, producers,...) were always enthousiastic.
His acting had something... very special, that made everything he did immediately credible. Whatever he did, in fact. Yes, he was the "bad guy" most of the time. But I always felt very difficult to "hate" any character he played.
One last word, about one of my regrets. I planned to go to visit california, for some vacations, and I had the project to visit him, at his Paradise View Road home, in Yucca Valley. I planned to send him a letter before, of course, but, you know how it is, you always think you have time for that, and you delay. I was starting it when I read on my newspaper in France that he just passed away (yes, he was pretty popular in France amongst my generation - people who just turned 40). I shouldn't have waited for so long.
I just wanted to say, even 4 months after he died, that I'm still very sad he passed away, and I present all my condolences to his family and friends.
Philippe A., from France
