EAST PEORIA - Jacqueline H. Kastner, 82, of Muncie, Ind., formerly of East Peoria, passed away at Golden Living Center on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, following an extended illness.
Jacqueline was born in Peoria, Ill., on Oct. 25, 1932, the daughter of William J. and Martha (Bailey) Mauschbaugh, and was a 1950 graduate East Peoria Community High School.
She was an admissions counselor at Metropolitan Community College in the city of Minneapolis, Minn., for over 15 years until her retirement in 1988.
Mrs. Kastner was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Kleeberg of Muncie, Ind., Teresa Iverson (husband, David) of Minneapolis, Minn., and Yvonne Matz (husband, Leroy) of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Henry Mauschbaugh (wife, Norene) of Metamora, Ill.; and seven grandchildren, Joseph Horstmann (wife, Tessa) of Lakeville, Minn., Jacob Leslie of Sheboygan, Wis., Korina Rosales (husband, Ruben) of Round Rock, Texas, Ian Kleeberg (wife, Renee) of Greenwood, Ind., Carla Kleeberg of Muncie, Ind., Chelsea Kleeberg of Muncie, Ind., and Tiffani Iverson of Prior Lake, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Oscar B. Kastner; five sisters, Martha Debbout, Ruth Baynard, Margaret Mau, Betty Jane Mauschbaugh and Mary Peckham; and two brothers, William Mauschbaugh and Roland Mauschbaugh.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 29, 2015, at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 E. Washington St., East Peoria, IL 61611. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, or one hour prior to time of service today.
