ASTORIA - Mina E. Bair, age 104, of 1008 E. Broadway St., Astoria, Ill., passed away at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in the Astoria Gardens.
She was born on Nov. 26, 1905, in Fulton Co., Ill., a daughter of Lewis and Iva (Rariden) Leonard. On Sept. 22, 1925, Mina married Carl A. Bair in Canton, Ill. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1984.
Mina was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Connie Royer; and two sisters, Mary Trone and Ruth Marquis.
Surviving are two sons, Jack (and Grace) Bair of Astoria, Ill., and Donald (and Carolyn) Bair of Vermont, Ill.; one daughter, Betty (and Russell) Platt of West Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren, Marty (and Sally) Bair, Michael (and Eugenia) Platt, Janet (and Bill) Frietsch, Ronnie Bair and Tim (and Kim) Bair; 12 great-grandchildren, Lindy and Libby Bair, Abigail, Alison and Ashley Frietsch, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Trenton Platt, Chase and Jordan Bair, and Bradi and Ben Bair; and one great-great-granddaughter, McKenna Schuler.
Mina was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and was devoted to her family.
She attended the Astoria United Methodist Church. Services for Mina will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, Ill. The Rev. Robert Einhouse will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Gardens Activity Fund or the Hospice Compassus, 1640 N. Henderson St., Galesburg, IL 61401.
Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear about your Mom, Mina's, passing. She surely had a very full life and left many fond memories. Steph got acquainted with her when she worked at the nursing home and mentioned visiting with her time to time. We will remember you in our prayers.
