BABSON PARK - Betty Jane Hannan of Babson Park passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Savannah Court.
She was born September 29, 1929, in Aurora, Indiana, to the late Leo Downey and Ethel Lorraine Newland; and she came here from Lawrenceburg, IN, in 1963. She was a retired nurse from Lake Wales Hospital and was a member of the First Christian Church in Babson Park. She was dedicated and deeply interested in nursing and enjoyed sewing, artistic painting and reading. She loved her children and family.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Allen. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bob Hannan; daughters, Jane Owen (Eddie) of Tallahassee and Sue Dunning (Nigel) of Babson Park; son, Steve Hannan of New Orleans, LA; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Babson Park. Condolences may be sent to the family at
