BETTY LOUISE LILES
NEW BOSTON — Betty Louise Liles, age 90 of New Boston, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Crystal Care Center in Portsmouth. She was born July 19, 1927 in New Boston to James and Fern (Sturgell) Jordan. She was a 1946 graduate of Glenwood High School and went on to work as an LPN at Mercy Hospital for several years. Betty was a longtime member of New Boston First Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed playing the autoharp, and sang with her husband, Eugene, for many years at different events. She was a Kentucky Colonel, loved reading, songwriting, and camping. In 1990 she and her husband were honored as Scioto County Outstanding Senior Citizens.
Betty is survived by two sons, David (special friend Natalie Ward) Liles of New Boston and Larry (special friend Nancy Clever) Liles of New Boston; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Matthew) Ison of Circleville, Tabitha (boyfriend David Thomas) Liles of Clarktown, Jared (Tiffany) Liles of Wheelersburg; five great-grandchildren, Stella Jean, Nathaniel Paul Jordan, Oliver Wyatt, Carson Xavier, Zander Alan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 2007; great-grandson, Wesley Lore; brothers and sisters, Bill Daugherty, Ray Taulbee, Annabelle Joseph, Emma Stevens, and Gladys Wolf.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Mikeal Lanning officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
