Hard to say goodbye to an old friend. Such a great guy. Bruce made a big impact in our family. He worked at Catepillar with my brother Lee. He lived next door to my Dad. Boy the beers, they drank. He helped my son get his apprenticeship for sheet metal work. He's in the same Union Bruce was. Bruce talked me into buying his house when they moved to Black Creek. He wanted to make sure someone would be close to take care of my Dad. All good things he did for us. He sure had a big heart and a great laugh. We saw him occasionly since he has moved. Will miss those visits when he came to Milwaukee to see Al.
Thank you Bruce for your guidance in our lives.
Rest in Peace,
The Schauer Family

Bruce chose me as his best friend way back in 1968. My family had just moved to Milwaukee and I didn't know anyone. Bruce and I met in home room at Bay-View High in Milwaukee Wi. He often invited me to his parents place in Clintonville . We would go to teen dances in Shawano together to meet girls and have fun. As you know, Bruce loved to have fun! We were fresh out of high-school Hippies in the early 70's and too young to know we weren't the real deal. AH, those were the days! But sadly as the years piled up we drifted apart. Girl friends, wives, families and miles all separated us over time. I regret the span of so many years without contact. Lesson learned as they say. But I am thankful for those happy times and fond memories of so long ago. I'm also thankful and proud to be counted among your best friends. Hope we meet again.
