I won't forget Jay's sense of humour. We worked together in Green Bay where we became good friends. His love for sports especially basketball got me hooked. I regret I lost touch since he was a great person to have in my life at that time.

Kay, Dave, Mary, Cheryl, and family,
Growing up across the street I have a lot of great memories playing football in the big lot for years and then playing basketball when the seasons would change, then playing baseball both with Jay and later as a player of his when he coached the Yankees in Little League. Many a time I challenged him to games of HORSE as he could shoot baskets all day. It was fun catching his passes during marathon football games in the days when the whole neighborhood would play together. I will always remember the good times and how growing up Jay was there as a friend and always there playing one sport or another.
Our prayers are with all of you.
Love, Pat and Linda

Jay, You will be missed! I enjoyed your stories about the kitty cats and your wonderful recommendations of movies to watch and tv shows to check out. You had a good sense of humor and I was glad to know you. My thoughts to your family...

My deepest sympathy to the Mielke family. I grew up with Jay in New London and went to school with him at MPB, the Junior High, and Senior High. I remember what a good basketball player he was, how much he loved the game, and he was one of the best players for the MPB Blue Jays Basketball Team. I was fortunate to meet up with Jay again at WRC and worked with him on the same unit. I was thankful for his help when I first started at WRC, and enjoyed his prankster ways, we never knew what he would be up to next, just that it would be funny.
