Pamela Rampersad Obituary

Rampersad, Pamela J.

Pamela Jean Rampersad (nee Knoll) received the greatest blessing one can be given as she was called to her heavenly home on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the age of 44.

Pam was born on August 15th, 1969 in Appleton, WI to James and Gloria Knoll (nee Freer). Her new life with Christ began at her baptism into God's family shortly thereafter. Throughout the following years she continued her spiritual growth, publicly professing her faith in Jesus as the Savior during her confirmation at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton during her 8th grade year. To her final day, her confirmation verse brought her great comfort. [Jesus said] "Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:20).

Pam had a love for learning that was almost insatiable. She attended Mt. Olive Lutheran Grade School and Fox Valley Lutheran High School, growing spiritually and academically. After high school she attended the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, the University of Wisconsin, Madison (receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism), Fox Valley Technical College (receiving her associate's degree in applied science), the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, (receiving her bachelor of science in nursing degree) and Seton Hall University (receiving her masters of science in nursing).

Pam was extremely active, and her physical activities included a love for biking, running, hiking, cross country skiing, and just working out. Music was a big part of her life as she played piano, trombone and the violin. She enjoyed shopping for fashionable clothes, decorating her house and was known to visit thrift shops, finding unique decorator items. One thing many will remember about Pam is her determination and strong will, which were evident even during her illness. Her pride and joy, the loves of her life, were her children: Constance, Vincent, and Augusta Bougie and Samantha Rampersad.

Pam is also survived by her parents, Gloria and Jim Knoll, Appleton, her husband, Michael Rampersad, her sisters Sara (Tim) Benes, De Pere, and Heather (Philip) Bigelow, Hemlock, MI, her brothers Paul (Heather) Knoll, Combined Locks, and Darren (Lori) Knoll, West Bend and many, many more relatives and dear friends.

Pam was preceded in death by her grandparents Gordon and Edna Freer and Bernhard and Irma Knoll. Together they now rejoice eternally at the feet of their Savior.

The family thanks the doctors and nurses of ThedaCare at Home for their selfless service. Thanks also to Pastor Mark Henke of Bethany Lutheran Church for all the prayers, love, and spiritual guidance showed to Pam. Special thanks to Auntie Joan, Pam's godmother, for all her care and concern throughout the years and especially during Pam's final days on earth.

Visitation will be held at Valley Funeral Home on 2211 N. Richmond Street from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, September 5th. Visitation will also take place on Friday, September 6th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Appleton (530 W. Parkway Blvd.). A memorial service at the church will be held following the visitation at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be directed to Fox Valley Lutheran High School or Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin, a marching band that Pam was a part of during her high school years and that her daughter, Constance, currently participates in.

The Lord has called a dear mother, daughter, sister, relative and friend home. And for that, for such grace, we thank him.

Pamela was a great mother and a wonderful wife. Pamela gave of herself to help others in need, she indeed lived an active life.
She was a very strong willed and tenacious person. Giving up was not in her vocabulary.
After years of active studying and sacrifice, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a NP. This dream was then short lived, when she was diagnosed with cancer.
She was very devastated by the news and suddenly her dancing was turned into mourning.
Pamela was a Christian and we believed -although we could not comprehend the Lords will in all of this, we continued to trust him.
Like Job we confessed, though my Redeemer slay me, yet will I trust him, because she will stand with him in the latter days".
Pamela is in heaven now free from the pain and suffering.
Jesus understood the human frailty of live and the sense of grief for loved ones and said to comfort those who need to be comforted and mourn with those that mourn..
I continue to miss her dearly and dream her almost every night.
I look at our 1 year old, calling out to me as both Mommy and Daddy. I see families with Moms hugging their daughters. I feel so sorry for her as tears flood my eyes..
There were many things we took for granted and there were a lot of petty issues we argued over. Things when compared to life itself -was just so trivial. Unfortunately our time on earth cannot be reimbursed.
Life is such a precious gift and can be taken away in the blink of an eye. Here today gone tomorrow. psalms 103.
Please don't forget to tell your loved ones, how much you love them and don't ever fall into complacency that life is guaranteed to you for a long time.
I miss you my beloved wife, but continue to look down upon us as all the kids become young men and young women for the Lord.

Dear Gloria, Jim and the Knoll Family, I was saddened to hear the news about Pam's illness and passing, but rejoice that she is in heaven with her Lord. Although I haven't seen Pam since I was her babysitter so very long, long ago, I remember her curly red hair and the way she relished her role as "big sister." I know she was a wonderful sister, wife, mom and daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Cheryl (King) Kaczmarek

Dear Gloria, Jim and family,

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers! Pam and I were friends in high school and remember meeting up with her a couple of times at mutual friend of our Rebecca Mode's house in Menasha. I remember them both playing violin and sounding just beautiful. Now Pam is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior playing in the band up there and singing God's praises. Remember this is not goodbye it is see you soon for we will be reunited with Pam in heaven!
I will not be able to attend the funeral or visitation but please know that I am thinking of you all.
