My grandmother, Dr. Alys Stenger, was and is a true role model for me. I always admired how independent she was. It was always cool to see her dental equipment and the waiting room. My friend's parents would tell me how she was their dentist when they were little. They loved going to the dentist (my grandmothers house) because of all the animals that were there (including a pet monkey). Her success and determination has fueled my own education and career choices.
Perhaps my happiest moment with my grandmother was being able to share a big moment and part of my life, which was my daughter, one of Alys' great grandchildren.
Dr. Alys Stenger (Gram) will be forever missed...and forever remembered. I am thankful that she was able to be such a big part of my life and for so long. Love you Gram!

As a child, Grandmas house was always the place you could find me. For a time, my child hood friends even thought I lived there. She always had a home made meal and a sweet treat for me. (not always in that order) as an adult she was one of the greatest friends to have. I will always love you Gram, and you are sorely missed! you are in a better place and for that I am happy for you. Until we meet again....I love you.

When I was a little girl Dr.Stenger was my dentist. I will always remember the fish tank
in her waiting room & her dog that greeted all her patients! She was my first dentist & I was always looked forward to seeing her. Because of her, I was NEVER
afraid to go to the Dentist! May she rest in peace.

Clara & Matt Jacob
My name is Clara Jacob. My husband Matt & I volunteer at Animal Friends doing Pet Therapy; that is, taking dogs & cats from the shelter & visiting assisted living homes. We've been going to Fair Oaks for several years now & Alys was always one of our regulars. She NEVER missed Pet Therapy & we looked forward to seeing her. She would always save part of her dinner from the night before & feed it to the dogs as treats. No wonder all of our pooches loved Alys so much! Matt & I enjoyed her sharp sense of humor. She always made us laugh. Her absence was deeply felt at Pet Therapy last week when we learned she was in the hospital & we were sorry to hear of her subsequent passing. God bless you Alys! Pet Therapy won't be the same without you. Rest in peace, dear friend.
